Plant conservation at the Morton Arboretum focuses on conserving plant
diversity of the Chicago region at the community and species level. Much
of this work is with Arboretum Research Associates, as well as with other
collaborators.
We are interested in the distribution and assemblage of plant communities
across the Chicago region, how this vegetation changes over time and how it
responds to fire management. We are also interested in plant restoration
ecology, including both endangered species and plant communities.
